In our previous updates (specifically v1.0.64), we count the secondary focus keywords towards the keyword density and that might be why you are seeing a higher number there.

Please check if the primary, as well as the secondary focus keywords, combined, is appearing the number of times displayed in the Keyword Density test.

You can simply ignore this test. The score generated by the content analysis is only for your reference and doesn’t affect the SEO performance of your site.
If you want then you can disable the keyword density test completely using the following filter in your theme’s functions.php file: https://rankmath.com/kb/disable-seo-content-tests/#num-12-disable-the-keyword-density-test
