Focus keyword?

    Hello,
I read in your docs that it’s not recommended for two posts to have the same focus keyword. And I get that, but the situation is this: I’m creating two blog posts based on two videos I created (which was created with a Part 1 and Part 2 as I felt that it was best to split it up due to the length and depth of the content).

So now I’ve created Part 1 and Part 2 blog posts based off of those videos, and I’m confused as to how I should optimize Part 2 now that I read that it’s not best to optimize two posts with the same keyword. Any guidance would be helpful.

P.S. I already published Part 1 of the blog posts already, now I have Part 2 still lingering in draft mode after I discovered these crucial details.

  • Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Normally, it isn’t recommended to use the same focus keyword on two posts but if they are both related to the same content then you can use the same focus keyword. The focus keyword is only for your reference, the main thing you need to make sure of is to keep the content of the second post unique. If the content is unique and targets the same keyword then there is no issue in using the same focus keyword or a slight variation of it.

Hope this clarifies your doubts. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch in case you need any other assistance.

Thanks Jaideep, I’ll probably go with a slight variation of it.
