Hi, my understanding is that the excerpt for a post will be pulled from the meta description. That’s why I have been religiously filling out the individual snippet using Rank Math.
However, after updating the core version of WordPress to 6.5.3, I noticed that excerpts are no longer showing on the posts selected to be featured on the sidebar. This problem appears to only affect new posts that are being created. Older posts are still able to pull and show the excerpts.
This is puzzling because, if I understand it correctly, when the “Excerpt” field (which is optional) is left blank, WordPress automatically generates the excerpt.

So, if this post is published and selected to be featured on the sidebar, there will be no excerpt. This isn’t the way it worked previously.
Are there some Rank Math settings that I need to fiddle with to get things back in order?
