Are you talking about sharing on social media websites?
There is no option to have an external file as an OpenGraph image in Rank Math right now. That might change in the future.

Could you try and roll back the plugin to a previous version in Rank math > Status & Tools > Version Control and let us know if and which of the versions adds the images then we can figure out what might have changed from there.

counted are more than updates, I remember that a version that had numbers.41 gave an error and reverted to numbers .40 was the one that was still climbing the external images. after these updates I realized a little while ago that not about the preview anymore

We will talk to the dev. team and see if there is a way to bring back this option.
We are not sure how effective that would be SEO wise but we will see if there is a workaround.
I await the solution. but I believe it will be very positive, as we do not always use internal images and that would help countless people, in addition to a new resource for rank math

We tested this internally and if you are embedding an external image into your post, Rank Math will pull it as the social image and use it for Facebook and Twitter tags.
If that doesn’t work, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

We do not see any og:image tag associated with that product.
