FAQ not being reported as present by “Rich Results Test”

    Hi

    I added the FAQ by Rankmath block to a post (as a test) and “Rich Test Results” was showing me that I had FAQ schema (proving to me that it works). But the text formatting was pretty bad so I added another instance of the block to see how the formatting looked.

    In nutshell “Rich Test Results” then stopped showing that I had any FAQ schema at all. I presumed this was because I’d added two instances. So I started again and re-added just 1 instance of the FAQ schema to 2 different posts as another test (the original post and a different post). Neither post now show as having any FAQ schema by “Rich Test Results”.

    The 2 posts are: “https://dogslocker.com/dogs/yessir/” and “https://dogslocker.com/post-template-test/”. Both have the “FAQ by RankMath” block added and both are not showing as having any FAQ added when this test is run: “https://search.google.com/test/rich-results”

    The website isn’t live and I’m currently testing a few things before building my site. Seeing how FAQ by RankMath” works is one of my tests (i’m wanting to use this if I can make it work).

    Am I doing something wrong??

  • PS I’ve flushed cache and cdn. I’m on Siteground hosting.

    Under “Detected structured data” it is showing “Articles – 1 valid item detected”. But not showing FAQ present

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    I’ve checked the FAQ block on the page, and it seems that you have added the FAQ block inside a container.

    Please note that the FAQ Block needs to be added as an FAQ Block on the editor in order for Rank Math to detect the insertion and also add the necessary Schema to the page’s header.

    Once done, clear your website’s cache and check again using Google’s Rich Results test tool.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Hi yes that was the answer now working. Formatting doesn’t look great as the heading text from question 2 is very close to the answer text from question 1 (not enough of a gap). Is there any way of adjusting this?

    Many thanks

    Hello,

    How the FAQ is displayed can be edited with CSS. The snippet below will increase the space at the top of an FAQ heading:

    div.rank-math-list-item h3.rank-math-question {
        margin-top: 2rem;
    }

    You can follow this guide for how to add CSS to your website: https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-easily-add-custom-css-to-your-wordpress-site/

    Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.

    Yes that worked

    Thanks again
