Hi team,

I am trying to share articles from my WordPress site to Facebook.

However, whichever post I share, the preview shows my website logo instead of the featured image.

I use the same theme and cache plugin (WP Rocket) for other sites – but no issues there. I use RankMath on all of my sites. All plugins an themes are up-to-date.

Cache has been emptied and I also re-scraped the page using this tool: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug

I read this article: https://rankmath.com/kb/ogimage-property-should-be-explicitly-provided/ – but found no solution.

I also got to this article, but did not understand exactly which code would solve this: https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#opengraph

On Twitter it previews the correct (featured) image.

Are you able to assist me with this, please?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and we regret the inconvenience caused.

I checked the source of the page and I was unable to find any og:image tag. Also, the featured image is in webp format. You can have a look at the screenshot in the sensitive data section of this ticket.

OG tags only support JPEG, PNG, and GIF images.

Twitter uses a different set of tags and it has started supporting webp image, but that is not the case with OG tags, which is used by many social media platforms including Facebook.

Please set the image of either of the supported types and of dimensions 1200px X 630px and see if that fixes the issue.

You can also set dedicated social images for Facebook and Twitter. Here’s a guide regarding this:
