Facebook required properties are missing og:description

    I’m seeing this warning on Facebook Sharing Debugger and RankMath SEO Analyzer

    The following required properties are missing: og:description

    when i try to fetch a category, and i’m not seeing og:description in meta tags for this category.

    In RankMath settings tab Titles & Meta for that category i’m setting description field to %sitedesc%

    to be more clear, let’s say i have category “cars” and i set Description to %sitedesc% then the og:description meta not being included to the page so facebook will show warning about that.

    Have cleared cache too many times with no luck.

    What causes this issue?

    Thanks for getting in touch with us.

    The %sitedesc% variable is only good for the homepage. It should not be used on category archives. For those, you should be using %term_description%

    In any case, please share a link to the problematic page so we can check the issue from our end as well.
