The access to your sitemap is through: https://yoursitename.com/sitemap_index.xml. The reason you were getting the stylesheet error is likely be cause you were trying to get the styling i.e .xsl.
I checked your site and your sitemap seems to be loading fine. As for the custom URL leading to your sitemap it is also lading the correct sitemap if you check the page source. It seems to be showing blank page in the front which is common when the page/URL is being cached.
That said, we are a small team ourselves and as much as we would love to, we cannot of offer custom solutions. The far we can go with this is making sure your sitemap_index.xml is loading fine with all your published posts & pages and also correctly submitted on your GSC.
