errors with Divi

Hi. I’ve been working with Divi for the past several times trying to find the problem with the Rank Math integration on my site. Here are the two problems:
First, within each page, the built-in module is not scrollable, so I can’t view all the rank math content in the module window.
Second, the contents will not save. Each time I make edits to the rank math content within the page module (such as the snippet), it disappears as soon as I close that page and reopen it, even though it appears saved while I’m on the page.
After sending many screenshots and having several different Divi support staff look at it, here is what they discovered:
“On further checking I can see that the plugin is creating a lot of errors on the page. You will have to get in touch with the plugin developer to check further.”

    Here is Divi’s screenshot: https://elegant-themes-f149edab9071.intercom-mail.com/i/o/452873375/ae9054744fd3149c38cc3db9/image.png

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Checking your screenshot here, it seems the Rank Math’s API files are being blocked by your server (403 error).

Please refer to this guide to fix it: https://rankmath.com/kb/meta-data-not-saving/#firewall

If you are not sure, you can contact your hosting provider and whitelist all Rank Math’s API routes.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you on this one.

Hi. This seems simple enough, but it’s not working for me yet. I’m going to Wordfence > All Options > Allowlisted URLs, and then have added all of the files listed in your reply:
    /wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateMeta
    /wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateSchemas
    /wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateRedirection
    /wp-json/rankmath/v1/getFeaturedImageId
    /wp-json/rankmath/v1/getHead

For each one, I’ve tried every parameter type (Post body, file name, header, query string), and then I name each one “Rank Math”. Still having no success. What am I missing?
    Thanks!

    Hello,

The Param type should be Query String and the Param Name should be ?_locale=user

Here is a detailed guide to whitelist Rank Math in Wordfence:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/whitelist-rank-math-in-wordfence/

    Hope that helps.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Hi, and thanks so much for clarifying. I followed the instructions and set it up exactly as recommended. Unfortunately, it’s still not working. By that I mean that the Rank File settings are not saving once I close any particular page on which I’m working.

    Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

Just checking to make sure you received my credentials. The user data shows you’ve not yet logged in, so I want to make sure you received everything in accordance with your instructions.

    Hello,

I went ahead and troubleshoot it further and I can’t seem to open the Rank Math SEO settings in Divi frontend builder.

Other than that, I also still notice blocking of Rank Math’s getFeaturedImageId API route.

Please ensure that all the route below are whitelisted:

    /wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateMeta
    /wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateSchemas
    /wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateRedirection
    /wp-json/rankmath/v1/getFeaturedImageId
    /wp-json/rankmath/v1/getHead

You may contact your hosting provider to help you effectively unblock all the routes I just mentioned.

If the issue persists, we would like to further check this via FTP but the FTP access you shared doesn’t seem to work from my end. Please check it so we can troubleshoot this deeper.

Looking forward to helping you on this one.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

Yes, the routes are whitelisted. To avoid further delay and difficulties, I’ve provided my cPanel credentials instead of creating a unique FTP. Thanks!

    Hello,

We just released a new version that may fix this issue, please update your Rank Math plugin and see if the issue goes away. https://rankmath.com/changelog/free/

Looking forward to hearing an update from you.

    Thank you.

No, unfortunately there is no change.

    Hello,

We have asked for further clarification from the dev team about this situation and they shared the same sentiment we already transmitted.

When a route is returning a 403 error it means it’s getting blocked at some point and you need to verify the settings with your hosting provider to make sure that nothing is blocking the access to the route used to save the metadata.

Something on your website is blocking those REST calls and there’s nothing more we can do from our side to whitelist the route.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Ok, I went to my hosting provider. They checked it out and asked me to disable Wordfence so they could run a few tests. Results:

“Now you got a json file, with return code 404 if you access from a browser. Please try again what you are doing. And pass the return message to RankMath.”

    Thoughts?

I may have just discovered the problem: a plugin called “Hide Admin Bar.” I need to do further testing, but it looks like the metadata saves when this plugin is deactivated.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
