I checked your sitemap’s source and was able to replicate the URLs mentioned in the Google Search Console error.
We have seen this type of issue before with Divi. It happens when you are using the Blurb feature in Divi and using a background image in the Blurb.
We recommend that you contact the Divi team and ask them if they have a solution for this where these background images of blurbs are not included in the sitemap. The functionality of Rank Math being able to see Divi images and adding them to the sitemap was added by the Divi team and that is why it is recommended that you contact them directly.

Thank you I have raised that with DIVI support. It is odd because it says 20 pages with errors, but there are only 7 pages built in DIVI and no blurb in the header or footer. So I don’t know where it’s getting it from. If you’re able to help that would be great.

Regarding the sitemap situation, this is likely caused by the fact that your sitemap is being cached and Google is not seeing it updated properly.
Please follow these steps to regenerate the sitemap and update the links:
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:

3. Clear your website’s cache and browser’s cache.

Indexed, Not Submitted in Sitemap is not an issue, it only means that Google has already indexed the posts but not through the sitemap.
It is possible that Google is crawling your website and indexing the posts through the internal links on your website and not through the sitemap, and as a result, the crawl budget for your website is exhausted and Google is not able to discover the URLs through your sitemap.
There is nothing to worry about as long as the posts/pages are getting crawled and indexed.

Hi, my concern is it is not getting crawled and indexed as it normally should. The only urls indexed are where I’ve done a url inspection and requested indexing and the coverage report reflects this as “indexed not submitted in sitemap”. Normally the indexing/coverage works automatically, so I’m concerned that something is not right. Is there anything else I can do? Or do I need to carry on with url inspection/request indexing process for every individual url?

I have checked your site and it is set to index.
I have also checked your sitemap and robots.txt file and they both seem to be working fine. I also validated your sitemap on https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html and it validated just fine.
One thing that I noticed is 2 variations of your sitemap are returning 200 status.

Except for the preferred variation (which should return only a 200 status), all the non-preferred variations of the website should redirect to the preferred variation and return a 301 + 200 status.
Please follow the steps in this link:

You can also get in touch with your web host regarding this.
Once this is fixed, please exclude the sitemaps from being cached. Here’s a guide that you can follow: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
Then, clear your website’s and server’s cache (if any) and give Google some time to crawl the website again and see if it helps.

Thanks for the reply – I’ve worked through all the advice but still the only urls in my search console are where I’ve manually inspected url and requested indexing. Fortunately it’s a small site so I can do this! I’ve now got 14 urls “indexed not submitted in sitemap” and some more I submitted today.

I searched your website on Google and out of 28 URLs in your sitemap, 22 are already indexed. You can have a look at the screenshot in the sensitive data section.
Could you confirm if the newly published pages are listed in the sitemaps? If yes, unfortunately, there is nothing else we can do as it is up to the complete discretion of Google, how it crawls the website.
As mentioned by my colleague, Indexed, Not Submitted in Sitemap is not an issue, it only means that Google has already indexed the posts but not through the sitemap.
We suggest you give Google some time and see if the remaining pages get indexed.
However, could you please check the Sitemaps section in your Google Search Console account and see if the sitemaps are detected properly and no errors are shown?

We understand this is a Divi issue and they have it on their fix list. I guess this is what’s stopping the coverage picking up automatically.
I’ve now submitted all urls manually and the coverage is looking a lot better.
