    Rank Math free

    Hello Rank Math team,

I am experiencing an issue with my WordPress website hosted on SiteGround. I have identified that Rank Math SEO seems to be causing a 500 error when I try to post or update certain pages on my site.

    Details of the problem:
I use WordPress + Elementor and my site is hosted on SiteGround.
When I try to publish a new landing page or edit and update an existing one, I get a 500 error.
Interestingly, I can add floating elements, pop-ups and other elements with no problem.
I tried deactivating all plugins and found that the error disappears when Rank Math SEO is deactivated.
I have enabled WordPress debug mode (WP_DEBUG), but no error appears in debug.log.
My hosting has enough memory allocated (memory_limit = 768M), so it doesn’t seem to be a resource problem.
Can you help me identify what might be causing this problem, and are there any settings within Rank Math SEO that might be interfering with page publishing?

I would be very grateful for any guidance on how to resolve this error.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Regards,

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the 500 error on your WordPress website. This type of error typically indicates a server-side issue, and since you’ve identified that it disappears when Rank Math SEO is deactivated, it suggests that there may be a conflict between Rank Math and another component of your site.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

    1. Check Server Logs: Since the error is a 500 error, reviewing your server logs can provide insights into what might be causing the issue. Look for any specific error messages that occur when you try to publish or update pages.

    2. Plugin Conflicts: Although you’ve deactivated all plugins, it might be worth reactivating them one by one alongside Rank Math to see if a specific plugin is causing the conflict.

    3. Theme Conflicts: Sometimes, the active theme can also cause issues. Try switching to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-One) temporarily to see if the problem persists.

    4. Increase PHP Memory Limit: Even though you mentioned having enough memory allocated, sometimes increasing it further can help. You can try setting it to 1024M in your wp-config.php file:

      define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '1024M');
    5. Check PHP Version: Ensure that your hosting environment is running a compatible version of PHP for Rank Math. We recommend using PHP 7.4 or higher.

    6. Contact Hosting Provider: Since you are hosted on SiteGround, reaching out to their support team can also be beneficial. They may have additional insights or logs that can help identify the issue.

If after trying these steps the issue persists, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so that we can assist you further. A human agent from our support team will take over and provide more tailored assistance.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to help you resolve it soon!

This is an automated reply from Rank Math Support Bot. If you need further assistance, please reply to this topic and a human support agent will reply to you shortly.
