Error 404 in taxonomies sitemaps

Hi. First of all, I congratulate you for developing the plugin which I think is the best. However I have a problem with custom taxonomies sitemaps. Each of these gives a 404 error. I tried updating the permalinks as indicated in your documentation, but nothing changed. I’m using a permalink management plugin on the site, I’ve tried disabling it and updating the permalinks again, but the error persists. Do you have any suggestions to try to solve the problem. I really don’t know what else to try.

    The site is scaimotor.it.
I am attaching some screenshots to see how I configured the settings.

Custom content type works fine unlike taxonomies. I don’t understand where I’m going wrong.

If you need access credentials to the site let me know!

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Your main sitemap does not include the taxonomies you have shared from your screenshots.

In this case, please check if those pages are eligible to be included in your sitemaps:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/url-not-in-sitemap/

If the issue still persists, you can also try adding this filter to your active theme’s functions.php file:

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the reply Reinelle. You are so good that even some inconvenience is largely forgiven 🙂

I have already excluded the sitemaps from the cache, however I have inserted the filter you wrote above. Now the “stato” and “post_tag” taxonomies work correctly. The only one that still doesn’t work is the “marca” taxonomy.

I have included it among the maps to send. If you have a moment to look at it that would be great. Sorry I didn’t include it sooner!

I also checked the link you gave me, I think I set everything up correctly.

    I don’t know where I’m wrong

    Hello,

We’re glad that the other taxonomies are already showing.

I’ve checked the “marca” taxonomy, and indeed it is still showing 404.

In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

I tried the temporary login link you provided, and it is redirecting to your staging homepage. Please may you update the login link with a working one.

In the meantime, please follow these steps to reset sitemaps and remove them from caching.
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp
    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Next check if your sitemaps have been regenerated and if they are working well.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi Nigel.

Sorry. I fixed the link. Now point to the Dashboard. If you can try again. Now you shouldn’t have any problems logging in.

As you can see in the previous messages, I have already tried the solutions indicated in the video. I think I did everything correctly.

I also excluded the sitemap from the cache with a filter suggested by Reinelle yesterday.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello,

The link you have shared is still not working. Please check and let us know when we can log in and check this further. You can also share the username and password.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

This is a plugin conflict on the website and we could verify that by following the steps here: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

The plugin conflicting with the taxonomies is the “Filter Everything PRO” which is returning a 404 for the Marca custom taxonomy on your website.

Since that plugin also includes some SEO rules it could be that those are conflicting with our plugin.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Thank you. I tried disabling the plugin and the Brand sitemap actually works. I also tried re-enabling the Filter Everything Pro plugin and deleting all of the plugin’s SEO rules, but still couldn’t fix the problem. If you have any more tips to fix this that would be great. Otherwise I will ask the developer of the Filter Everything Pro plugin. Thanks again for your help!!

    Hello,

You should get in touch with the support of the Filter Everything Pro plugin as they will be in a better position to help you fix the issue. I checked but wasn’t able to figure out which option is causing the issue with the sitemap.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to your update.

Thanks for your help. I’ll try to get in touch with Filter Everything Pro support. If I have any news, I’ll let you know. 🙂

    Hello,

Sure! Let us know how it goes.

Meanwhile, please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you.

    Hello,
