Elementor => no search volume in Google Search Console

    Hi,

    as a small agency we have been using Divi for our client-projects. On most of them we are already using RankMath without any issues (some are still on Yoast, waiting for RankMath to be setup there too). On these sites Google Analytics and Google Search Console is used and connected with Rank Math … all working perfectly and both Google Analytics AND Google Search Console are showing traffing – amount of traffic fitting together with site-size.

    Problem in Elementor
    ================
    Recently we have been switching to Elementor PRO and are experiencing a strange issue on the two sites we have sent LIVE in the last few weeks.

    Problem is that we are only having VERY LITTLE TRAFFIC or SEARCH IMPRESSIONS on these sites. We are using Rank Math there and have configured the plugin the same way as we have before done on the Divi pages … though we have setup Google Analytics and Google Search Console correctly and connected these two tools together. We als have a confirmed site ownership message in search console for these two sites. And also sitemaps are confirmed on both sites.

    Our Questions
    ===========
    1) As we are really helpless at the moment … are you seeing anything wrong on these two sites. They are by far not fully SEO optimized yet (only basic plugin settings have been done), but we have not done any SEO-details on our other Divi sites either … and on the Divi sites we are seeing traffic (and impressions in the search console).

    2) The second strange thing is that on both sites we are shown “Keine Daten = No Data” under Search Queries … we have never seen this prior on our Divi sites? And we cannot believe that there are ABSOLUTELY NEARLY NO IMPRESSIONS on those 2 sites …

    3) We have even deleted both search console properties on these 2 sites and setup 2 new ones …

    4) Does RankMath need to be setup a little bit different for Elementor than it’s necessary for Divi?

    Your Feedback
    ===========
    Would be great if you have any new insights why we are experiencing nearly no traffic and impressions on these two sites!?

    Thanks and best regards
    Michael

  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    No special settings are required when optimizing a site that is built with Elementor. Rank Math should continue to work the same for all page builders.

    I have taken a look at the first site and only 7 pages are present on the sitemap. Some of these pages contain dummy content. You need to perform a bit of more optimization for more impressions.
    The second site seems to be missing a sitemap file. Please perform these steps to fix this:

    1. Head over to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks

    Hit the save button once.

    2. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings

    Hit the save button once.

    That should fix the issue.

    If it doesn’t, please do let us know so we can look at this further.

    Hi Michael,

    thank you for you quick support:

    First Site => https://aigner-tunnel-airjet.com/
    ================================================
    I have re-saved the permalinks … thanks

    Second Site => https://conversion-marketing.at/
    ================================================
    How do you see, that the sitemap-file is missing. It has been shown in the Google Search Console as “successfully submitted” … and when I click on the sitemap-link in GSC it shows at sitemap with the correct links? In other words: how can I check that the sitemap is really there?

    Nevertheless I have done the two steps … hoping that the sites content will now be found by Google?

    Thanks and best regards,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

    Thanks for the follow up.

    I have checked the second site and it is now displaying the sitemap successfully.
    All you can do now is to wait for Google crawl your content.

    I hope this info helps. Thank you.

    Hi Michael,

    great thanks … then I will wait.

    Last question:
    How can I check it on my own, that the sitemap is really there and working? Because it has shown as successfully submitted in GSC, but this obviously didn‘t work before …?

    Thanks and best regards,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

    The permalinks need to be flushed just once which we have done already.

    You most likely will never need to follow those steps again.

    Hi Todd,

    thanks for your reply. I understand that this is ok for this site now. But as we are designing client-sites I would really like to know how I could check if the sitemap is REALLY working correctly … in order to verify this on OTHER sites too? I would like to build this into our process when going live and setting up search console!

    Thus again my question
    ======================
    How can I check it on my own, that the sitemap is really there and working? Because it has shown as successfully submitted in GSC, but this obviously didn’t work before …?

    Thanks and best regards

    Hi,

    I am sorry but we do not have any option to do that. You will have to rely on the data provided by GSC or check the sitemaps manually every few days. If you are good with coding, you can develop a script to check for the sitemap file’s status but I guess that would be overkill since it likely won’t happen again unless you make changes to your website’s permalink structure or install a new plugin that fiddles with the .htaccess file.

    ok … thank you …
