Edit snippet description impossible - Support

When I try to edit the snippet description it doesn’t work. I cannot change the content by clicking in this box.
When I change the amount of words for the snippet description, I can only change the number but it hasn’t any effect on the number of words in the box.

I tried the health check and replaced the Avada theme and still have the same mistake.

What am I missing?

Hello,

That is the default excerpt picked from your content by Rank Math. The default except values are non-modifiable.

To modify that value, you’ll need to manually paste the entire excerpt in the SEO Description field and then modify it.

If that is so, what is the point of the “edit snippet” function anyway???

Hello @kees-torenvliet,

Thank you for contacting us today and bringing your concern to our attention.

The purpose of our Snippet editor gives you full control of an individual page or post. The default value (which is also taken from the global settings) is the excerpt that can’t be modified. You need to open the Snippet editor to edit the meta description as mentioned by my colleague in the previous reply.
