Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the "Duplicate, Google Chose Different Canonical than User" status on your WooCommerce site. This situation often arises when Google detects multiple versions of similar content and selects a different canonical URL than the one you’ve specified.
In your case, since you have dual language versions of the same products, here are some steps you can take to resolve this:
1. Set Correct Canonical URLs
For each product page, ensure that the canonical URL is set correctly. You can do this using the Rank Math meta box:
- Go to the product edit page in your WordPress dashboard.
- Scroll down to the Rank Math meta box.
- Under the Advanced tab, set the canonical URL to the appropriate version (e.g., for the Spanish version, set it to the Spanish URL).

2. Use Hreflang Tags
Implementing hreflang tags can help Google understand that these pages are translations of each other. This tells search engines which language version to show to users based on their language preferences. You can set this up in Rank Math as well:
- Ensure that you have enabled the hreflang feature in Rank Math settings.
- Add the appropriate hreflang tags for each language version of your products.
3. Check for Other Duplicate Content
Make sure there are no other pages on your site that might be causing confusion for Google regarding canonicalization. This includes checking for similar product descriptions or duplicate content across different pages.
4. Monitor in Google Search Console
After making these changes, monitor your Google Search Console for any updates on the indexing status of these pages. It may take some time for Google to re-crawl and update its index.

Hreflng tags are properly generated and canonical urls are set for each product. So not sure what do I need to do?
Why is no one replies to my ticket?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out. Since both versions of your product pages already have self-referencing canonicals set correctly, there’s nothing further you need to do. The “Duplicate, Google Chose Different Canonical than User” notice in Search Console is normal in multilingual setups, and Google will update the report over time.
Kindly allow Google some time to recrawl and refresh the report.
Thank you Jeremy.
Why it takes you guys 5 days to reply to a support ticket? Is it because I’m using a free version?
