Duplicate content Product Category Page Pagination

Hi
I have a duplicate content issue with product pagination on category pages. This url would be an example.
https://mytap.com.au/laundry-taps/?product-page=3

Looking at forum found this regarding how Yoast “fix” it by adding %page%

Will this work with Rank Math snippet?

I have added the string to this category and this is a paginated page
https://mytap.com.au/product-category/free-installation-sydney-metro/?product-page=3

Not to this category
https://mytap.com.au/laundry-taps/?product-page=3

There seems to be no difference in the source code so it is not obvious that this is actually making any difference. The urls work exactly the same.

So I’m knd of confused why this should work at all.

Maybe if this is not the expected behaviour adding %page% a plugin is preventing expected cahnges to the page source code.
