  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the drop in traffic after installing the Rank Math plugin. It’s understandable to expect improvements in traffic when switching to a new SEO plugin.

Here are a few things to consider that might help you understand the situation better:

    1. SEO Plugins and Traffic: An SEO plugin alone cannot drastically change your traffic in a short period unless there are incorrect Meta Tags or settings. It’s essential to ensure that Rank Math is set up correctly. You can refer to our detailed setup tutorial here.

    2. Algorithm Updates: Google frequently updates its algorithms, which can impact your traffic. It’s possible that your site was affected by one of these updates. You can check if your traffic drop correlates with any algorithm updates using our guide here.

    3. Meta Tags and Optimization: Ensure that the Meta Tags generated by Rank Math are correct. You can view the source of your pages to check the tags being used. If they are not optimized, it could affect your visibility in search results.

    4. Performance Monitoring: Use tools like Google Search Console to monitor your site’s performance and identify any issues that may be affecting your traffic.

If you have already optimized Rank Math and are still experiencing issues, please reply to this ticket with any specific errors or concerns you have noticed, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to help you resolve it soon!

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch and we are sorry for the experience you had while using the plugin. We will try our level best to help you get to the bottom of this.

There are a few things you have to keep in mind when using any SEO plugin, not just Rank Math.

    1. An SEO plugin alone cannot bring down or bring up the traffic in a day (or even a few days) unless incorrect Meta Tags are used by setting up the plugin improperly. That’s why we have a detailed tutorial on that:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-setup/

    2. All the SEO plugins add Meta tags for the search engines which can be checked by viewing the source of a page. For instance, here:
    view-source:https://rankmath.com/

Other popular plugins generate similar tags:
    https://i.rankmath.com/n94KyH

And with the Rank Math plugin, additional tags are added to a page so search engines can understand the content on a website better.

    3. Google brings a new algorithmic update several times a month and the chances are great that your website got hit by that.

We have a full guide on that: https://rankmath.com/blog/google-algorithm-update-recovery/

In the PRO version of the plugin, you can even see if the drop in traffic correlates to an algorithm update. Here’s how:

    https://rankmath.com/kb/google-algorithm-updates/

So, to start we would recommend a complete SEO audit by following the steps here: https://rankmath.com/blog/seo-audit/

Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hello,
