    Rank Math free

    Good morning,
I’ve been using your plug-in for a few days and i have a doubt. Does Rank math treats pages like posts?
Because pages like contact, unsubscribe from newsletter etc… can influence my overall SEO but it doesn’t make much sense to me. And in the general settings on the sidebar when i edit the contact page there are parameters like the number of worls (only 44 words because is a contact page), the presence of power words, sensational words and numbers in the SEO title, the presence of a table of contents andm ore that influence the overall SEO. Is it normal ? Should i do not care?
And also another quick thing, what schema should i use for my pages like home, about me, contact etc…
For my posts i set article and type “blog post”, is that okay?
    Thank you
    Have a great day

  • Hello,

I apologize for the confusion. Rank Math treats pages and posts differently, and it is normal to see SEO parameters for pages like contact, unsubscribe, etc. The SEO settings for pages are designed to help you optimize these pages for search engines, just like you would for regular posts.

The parameters such as the number of words, power words, sensational words, and other SEO factors are important for optimizing your pages for better search engine visibility. While it may seem unusual at first, optimizing these pages can positively impact your overall SEO.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with specific settings, feel free to ask. Thank you for reaching out to us!

    Hello,

Thank you for your query, and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

Yes, Rank Math treats pages similarly to posts in terms of SEO analysis, offering suggestions to optimize content.

For non-content-heavy pages like Contact or About, it’s normal to ignore some SEO recommendations as they do not apply.

You can prioritize what makes sense for each page type.

For schema, choose types that best represent the page content: ‘ContactPage’ for contact, ‘AboutPage’ for about sections, and ‘WebPage’ for generic pages.

For posts, using ‘Article’ with ‘BlogPost’ is appropriate.

Focus on what enhances user understanding and search relevance for your site’s content.

We hope that helps, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

    Good morning Alhan,
Thank you for your response. Rank Math plugins has been useful so far, but really the only thing i didn’t understand is schema. What is it? What it does? Why i have only few options like article, course, person, recipe, etc… and not the one you cited before? How can i create or import those schemes? What scheme should i use on pages and posts?
    Thank you so much

    Hello,

Schema markup in SEO refers to structured data that helps search engines better understand and categorize your content. This markup can lead to enhanced content display in search results, improved click-through rates, enhanced user experience, and potential ranking benefits.

However, it doesn’t directly impact rankings, but it contributes to a more positive overall SEO strategy.

Regarding the options we mentioned before, some types are not available as templates in our plugin but some are added automatically when the pages are correctly identified as contact and about pages under WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > Titles & Meta > Local SEO.

Also, please note that in the Free version, you are limited to a single type per page and you also cannot import or use the Advanced Schema Generator that allows you to further enhance the markup of the website.

Here are more details on this custom markup generator from the PRO plugin: https://rankmath.com/kb/schema-generator/

Last but not least, the type that you select for each post or page will depend on the content they have. For example, if the posts are being used to hold all your articles, you can use the Article Schema, with the subset of BlogPosting.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
