Does it make sense to change the url of the tags?

    Currently, tag URLs have the path with /tag/.

    Does it make sense to remove this part to get mydomain.com/mario/? Is it a good idea for SEO and clicks?

    I tried using a trick in the permalinks; a dot in the tag removes the /tag/. But the new URL is not working.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Unfortunately, Rank Math doesn’t support removing the base /tag from the slug. It will definitely breaks the functionality of your website in multiple ways. i.e. Suppose you have post with the same slug, then your tag URL will not work since, WordPress will give priority to the post first > category > tag. If you somehow manage to do with some plugin. Later if, WordPress changes the functionality of the WordPress. Then you will have no way to redirect those pages back to /tag since all your posts has the same URL structure.

    For now you can install other plugin that supports removing the tag slug to get your job done.
