Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.
After changing the links per sitemap, exclude the sitemaps from caching by following this guide:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
Once done, clear your website cache and check the sitemap.
Hope that helps.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Hello there,
Thank you for the response.
I had actually tried this step myself already, unfortunately the problem persists.
In addition to this I have also manually ‘purged’ the permalink structure of my site, and I have changed the number of urls per sitemap by 1 in order to manually ‘purge’ that as well. However, problem persists.
Hello,
Please add this filter in the theme’s functions.php
file:
add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');
Here is a guide you can follow to add the filter:
https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/#functions-php-file
Once done, clear your website cache and check the sitemap.
Let us know if the issue persists.
We are here to assist you.
Added the filter and cleared my cache again, but problem persists. 🙁
Hello,
We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
We really look forward to helping you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
I can check that you are using TranslatePress to translate your site. You only have 284 posts and the rest of the posts are being generated dynamically by TranslatePress. Our plugin is generating the sitemap for 284 posts and then TranslatePress’s SEO Pack add-on is adding the translated URLs in the sitemap.
That’s why the Links per Sitemap option is not being applied to your post sitemap. If the sitemap is growing large then we will recommend disabling the SEO pack add-on to remove the translated URLs from the sitemap. Google will be able to detect them from the hreflang attribute that the translate plugins add to the URLs.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
Thanks.
Ah, that makes sense.
I’ll work around the issue and set it to 200 or something per sitemap then, which should “translate” into 3000 or so and that should solve the issue.
Thank you!
