Different Sitemaps on Multisite

    I have a wordpress multisite with information site as root domain (domain.com)and store as subdirectory (domain.com/shop).
    Now I noticed that there are two different sitemaps:
    domain.com/sitemap_index.xml & domain.com/shop/sitemap_index.xml

    Is this a problem for the crawlers?
    Shouldn’t the sitemaps be together, and how do I manage that without breaking up the multisite?

    Thank you for contacting support.

    The reason why you see two different sitemaps is that a Multisite means two different sites.

    You can submit both sitemaps to GSC, and it won’t cause any issues.
