Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the homepage description not pulling correctly. It sounds like there may be a few things to check to resolve this.
-
Meta Description: Ensure that you have correctly set the Meta Description in the Rank Math snippet editor for your homepage. You can do this by navigating to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta → Homepage. Here, you can enter your desired Meta Title and Meta Description.

-
Static Page vs. Latest Posts: Check if your homepage is set to display a static page or your latest posts. You can find this under WordPress Dashboard → Settings → Reading → Your Homepage displays. If it’s set to display the latest posts, the Meta Description may not be applied as expected.
-
Site Name and Tagline: To ensure that your site name and tagline are displayed correctly, go to WordPress Dashboard → Settings → General and make sure both the Site Title and Tagline fields are filled out correctly. After making any changes, remember to click Save Changes.

-
Caching Issues: Sometimes, caching plugins or browser cache can cause old data to display. Clear any caching on your site and in your browser to see if that resolves the issue.
If you have checked all of these settings and the problem persists, we recommend replying to this ticket so a human agent from the Rank Math Support team can assist you further with this issue.
Thank you for raising this concern, and we’re here to help!

Hello, I updated the Rank Math snippet on my home page for the description, but it is still pulling the first sentences from a blog article. And the tagline is not pulling next to the site name.
I also just deleted WP Rocket, not sure if that has just caused more issues.

Hello,
The description of your homepage is already set:
“We share easy tips, honest product reviews, and simple swaps to help you reduce microplastics and choose better alternatives to plastic.”
You can also verify them by using these tools:

Hello Reinelle, yes I have added but the description and the tagline next to my name are not showing. I have added a screenshot. It is only showing my name twice and the first few sentences of a blog post.

Hello,
If the title/description is already set in the page’s source code, please note that Google and other search engines sometimes ignore the custom meta info altogether and show something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.
