Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math.
Assuming you wish to delete the category, you should also redirect the related URL to the page you wish to have the related URLs redirected.
As for the posts included in the category, you can use a regex redirection to have posts redirect if the category was included in the post URL.
Would you share some of the URLs if you wish for us to check this?
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Thanks for answering dear Michael Davis.
So, I don’t use the category name in the url to keep it from getting too big, which prevents redirecting on that feature.
These 721 articles fulfilled a purpose that I haven’t used in a long time.
They are articles with content ONLY with a small image and the article DOES NOT have any text – which impoverishes the blog for lack of content harming the other articles.
Deleting the category would be quick and accurate. I could even do that and redirect the articles as they appear with a 404 error in Google Search.
But I am concerned about a blog with so many redirects – Google can interpret that I am doing some kind of Black Hat SEO.
All of these articles have a common word in their URL: “img” or “image”.
The Sub-Category is:

Hello,
Thank you for the getting back to me.
As there is nolonger need for the articles and the URLs will no longer exist on your site, you can create 410 redirections instead of 301. 410 redirection will tell Google that the content ha been deleted. It is very unlikely that Google will misquote 410 redirects for black hat SEO.
Something you should also consider doing is to request URL removal from indexing and Google if your pages were already crawled or indexed.
I hope this helps you. Let u know if you have any further questions.
