Dashboard activating modules 502 Bad Gateway Nginx

    Hi,

We have a website setup and running Rank Math SEO.
The site is running on a Nginx server instance with a caching proxy and a few other speed and security.

When we go to the Rank Math SEO dashboard and try to activate any of the modules we receive a POST …/wp-jason/v1/saveModule 502 (Bad Gateway) error.
This causes the module not to activate.

I test the same API route on our staging server and it gives a 404 rest_no_route.
However, on the staging environment it actives the selected module without any issues.

Is there anything in particular we should request the server admins to look at to resolve the issue; or is there a starting point we can use to test for the cause of the issue?

Could this also be an issue caused by the optimization plugins.

    Thanks for the support.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Have you tried checked this with only Rank math active with default theme. It’s always a good idea to first check for a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), to determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

We wanted to add that you should temporarily disable any firewall or security plugins you have installed.

If that doesn’t work, we might need to take a closer look.

    Hi Michael and Uzair,

We will check out the troubleshooting steps as indicated by Michael with the security note from Uzair and feedback as soon as we have results.

    Thanks

    Hello,
