However, it seems that we need to customise the block each and every time we post. Which is not an optimal solution.

Can you please confirm if you wish to have a customized HowTo block that only shows the preferred field? If so, then it is not currently possible.
You can go ahead and provide only the steps as this should still work and the HowTo schema would still be generated on the frontend as well.

You can reuse the block if you wish to reuse the same settings to other posts. WordPress actually provides this feature called “Reusable Block”. Here’s a quick guide about it here: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/reusable-block/

Thanks. I’m able to achieve this with Reusable blocks.
However, after adding the Reusable block to a post, I need to convert it into a regular block so that I can add the steps and descriptions that are appropriate to each post.
It would be great if you could provide a code snippet that can be added to override the “How to” block settings.

Hello,
Currently, we don’t have a filter or hook for that. You will have to manually change the settings of the block on every post. However, we have global block settings for the TOC block and I have shared this as a feature request to add the same settings for the FAQ and How-To Blocks.
We will inform you if we decide to implement this in our plugin.
