    Rank Math free

    Environment:
    WordPress Version: 6.7.2
    Theme: Divi 4.27.4
    SEO Plugin: Rank Math 1.0.239

    Problem Description:
When a non-existent URL is accessed, the site crashes with a WordPress critical error instead of displaying the custom 404 error page created using Divi Theme Builder. Disabling Rank Math resolves the issue, indicating a potential conflict between Rank Math and Divi’s custom error handling.

    Expected Behavior:
The custom 404 error page should gracefully handle the error and provide a user-friendly message.
    Troubleshooting:
When Rank Math is deactivated, the custom 404 page displays as intended, pointing to an interaction issue between Rank Math and Divi.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    Install WordPress 6.7.2.
Activate Divi 4.27.5 and design a custom 404 error page using Divi Theme Builder.
Install and activate Rank Math 1.0.239.
Navigate to a non-existent URL on your site.
Observe that a critical error occurs, causing the site to crash.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the custom 404 error page crashing your WordPress site when using Divi and Rank Math. It seems like there might be a conflict between Rank Math and the Divi Theme Builder’s custom error handling.

To help resolve this issue, we recommend the following steps:

    1. Check for Plugin Conflicts: Temporarily disable other plugins to see if the issue persists. This can help identify if another plugin is causing the conflict.
    2. Update Everything: Ensure that WordPress, Divi, and Rank Math are all updated to their latest versions. Sometimes, updates can resolve compatibility issues.
    3. Review Server Settings: Check your web server settings to ensure that it is configured correctly to handle 404 errors. If the server is misconfigured, it may not display the custom error page as intended.
    4. Contact Hosting Provider: If the issue continues, consider reaching out to your hosting provider for assistance, as they may have insights into server-level configurations that could be affecting the error handling.
    5. Provide Site URL: If you would like further assistance, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so we can investigate more thoroughly.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will take over and assist you further. Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention!
