Hello,
We apologize for the issues you are facing with your websites. It sounds like a serious problem, especially with the redirection to a Chinese website and the changes in your site’s title and description.
From what you’ve described, it seems that your site may have been compromised, possibly due to malware or a security vulnerability. While Rank Math is designed to enhance SEO and not cause such issues, it’s crucial to ensure that your website is secure. Here are some steps you can take:
-
Check for Malware: Use a security plugin to scan your website for malware. Plugins like Wordfence or Sucuri can help identify and remove malicious code.
-
Update All Plugins and Themes: Ensure that all your plugins, including Rank Math, and your theme are updated to their latest versions. Outdated software can have vulnerabilities that hackers exploit.
-
Review User Accounts: Check for any unauthorized user accounts in your WordPress admin panel. Remove any accounts that you do not recognize.
-
Change Passwords: Change passwords for your WordPress admin, database, and hosting account to prevent further access by unauthorized users.
-
Check Google Search Console: Since you mentioned seeing a Chinese homepage in Google Search Console, it’s essential to check for any security issues reported there. You may also want to submit a reconsideration request after cleaning up your site.
-
Backup Your Site: Before making any changes, ensure you have a complete backup of your site.
-
Contact a Security Expert: If the problem persists, consider hiring a professional who specializes in website security to help clean up your site and secure it against future attacks.
If you believe this issue is directly related to Rank Math, please reply to this ticket with more details about the specific problems you’re encountering, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further. Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention, and we hope to help you resolve it as soon as possible!
Hello,
We’ve checked your website and it looks like it is affected by the famous Japanese keyword hack.
Please note that the Japanese keyword hack is a famous malware attack and Rank Math is not related to this. You can check this URL for more details on this attack: https://web.dev/articles/fix-the-japanese-keyword-hack
However, we strictly follow the security of our plugin and get the plugin audited by 3rd party security firms every 3 months. To learn more about Rank Math security, you can check this URL: https://rankmath.com/kb/is-rank-math-safe-to-use/
Regarding the database tables screenshots you’ve shared, for the rank_math_internal_links
, it just stores all the links you’ve added on your website to count them. This table is generated when you enable the Link count module in Rank Math.
Please note that Rank Math doesn’t generate these links on your website. It just stores the links that you added to your posts/pages.
The same for the rank_math_404_logs
table, it just stores the 404 URLs that users/bots try to access. This table is generated when you enable the 404 Monitor module in Rank Math.
We only report the 404s and unfortunately, we do not have information on how or why they are generated.
These database tables are not related to the Japanese keyword hack, and if you want, you can simply disable the modules and the database tables will also be removed.
Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
