Hello,
I’m trying to use the easy mode of the Setup wizard, but says there is a critical error on my site (see image in sensitive data).
Under “Status and tools”, I noticed that in the Error Log, there are several errors related to the “actionscheduler” in the WordPress database (see log in sensitive data).
I tried to follow the instructions in this article (https://rankmath.com/kb/fatal-error-after-1-0-49-update), but it didn’t work. I’ve deactivated all plugins, changed theme, and nothing to solve the problem.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
We really look forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
Thank you for your patience.
I’ve checked the error logs from your site, and it seems that the Action Scheduler line was already fixed since it’s no longer appearing from the last captured date
[29-Apr-2021 03:14:52 UTC]
However, I’m unable to replicate the Critical Error issue upon navigating in the Setup Wizard.
In this case, please get in touch with your web host to check for any captured errors when the critical error happened so we can find the root cause of this issue.
I hope that helps.
Thank you.
Hello, Reinelle
I’m sorry it took me so long to answer your answer.
Apparently the Action Scheduler has been fixed, but the “Error Log” continues to show several error messages.
On the web host it appears to be normal or there may be some problem in the database tables.
Still can’t identify the root of the problem. But thank you so much for the help!
Hello,
Thank you for the update.
We wanted to further check your site, but it seems that the login link is no longer working/expired. Could you please update?
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
Upon further checking, it looks like the
actionscheduler
error is no longer in the error log. I also went ahead and checked the setup wizard and it seems the warning error is no longer there as well. Please refer to my screenshot here. https://i.rankmath.com/bK1S4LCould you please confirm on your end?
We are looking forward to helping you with this one.
Hi Jeremy, thanks for trying to help!
Yes, actionscheduler bugs have finally been fixed!
Have the Setup Wizard error permanent. It actually appears in the next step (see my screenshot in Sensitive Data). I activated the WordPress Debug function for you to understand better, there it shows the lines with errors in the plugin code.
Hello,
That seems strange. I tried replicating on my end and it works just fine. Please refer to my video screencast in the Sensitive Data section.
As you can see, I tried both easy and advanced setup wizard and I wasn’t able to see any errors in every step.
Could you please try clearing your website and your browser cache and see if this resolves your issue? You may also try using a different browser and let us know if that helps too.
We are looking forward to hearing an update from you.
Hello
I just ran a test with the temporary login and there really is no error. (see my screenshot)
However, I did the same test using my personal login and the error appears. So I decided to create a new user account with admin rights, but the error persists.
Interestingly, I don’t receive any message in the email about this critical error. Also, only in my personal login it shows the lines of PHP code that have errors, not in the temporary login.
I disabled all plugins and switched to the default theme, but I was not successful either.
To help them find the root of the problem, I’ll leave my personal login in Sensitive Data. I hope to be able to collaborate with the solution of the problem.
I just discovered the problem, it was in the site’s language which, in my case, is Brazilian Portuguese.
When accessing by temporary login which is set to English (United States) the wizard is functional normally. However, when I switch to my language it has the error.
Well, now it’s up to you to fix the root of the problem.
Hello,
I am able to replicate the issue (https://i.rankmath.com/DXGOoU)
It’s likely that some other plugin on your website is using an outdated version of the CMB2 library that is conflicting with the version we use in Rank Math.
We use the latest version or one of the latest, but if a plugin uses an older one and it’s not being updated it will cause this message to appear.
What we recommend you do is a plugin conflict check by following this tutorial and find the culprit: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/
After you find the one causing this issue please report to the developers of that plugin and ask if they are using the latest version of the CMB library.
Hope this helps solve your issues.
I followed your instructions and saw that the theme I was testing was in conflict with Rank Math’s CMB2 library. I’ve already changed it for another one.
However, as I said before, it only shows critical error in the Setup Wizard when WordPress is in a language other than English (United States).
Being able to complete all the steps of the Configuration Wizard with WordPress in English, in my language it has a critical error.
Hello,
Could you please try to run the setup wizard one more time and check if you are to run the setup wizard without errors?
I have performed a quick fix, as mentioned here.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Hi, I made two videos showing the cause of the critical error.
The first is with my theme and all plugins are enabled. The second video has all plugins enabled and with the default WordPress theme.
I hope you understand and find out the root of the problem.
