    Hi Rank Math Support,

After the latest plugin update, my site is showing a critical error. I’m running PHP 8.4. The error originates from this file and line:

    /wp-content/plugins/seo-by-rank-math/includes/class-tracking.php on line 333

It seems related to the get_user_email() method returning an unexpected value. The site is currently inaccessible.

Could you please advise how to fix this issue?

Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: RankMath\Tracking::get_user_email(): Return value must be of type string, bool returned in /projects/matcallnl_4c/public_html/wp-content/plugins/seo-by-rank- math/includes/class-tracking.php:328 Stack trace: #0 /projects/matcallnl_4c/public_html/wp-

  • Hello,

We apologize for the critical error you are experiencing after the latest update. This issue seems to be related to the get_user_email() method returning a boolean value instead of a string, which is causing the fatal error.

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Access Your Site via FTP or File Manager: Since your site is currently inaccessible, you will need to access your files directly.

    2. Rename the Plugin Folder: Navigate to the wp-content/plugins/ directory and rename the seo-by-rank-math folder to something like seo-by-rank-math-disabled. This will deactivate the Rank Math plugin and allow you to regain access to your site.

    3. Check for Updates: Once you have access, check if there is a new update available for the Rank Math plugin that may fix this issue. If there is, update the plugin.

    4. Revert Changes: If the issue persists after updating, you can rename the folder back to its original name to reactivate the plugin and check if the problem is resolved.

    5. Contact Support: If you continue to face issues, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so that a human agent from our support team can assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. We hope this helps you resolve the issue quickly!
