Count links and keywords also in footnotes and article TAGs

When writing an article, RankMath’s instant analyzer should also take footnotes and TAGs into account when calculating the SEO score.
In fact, for SEO purposes, both the footnotes and the TAGS at the bottom of the article are contents of the article itself for search engines.
Instead, if I insert internal and external links in the footnotes they are not calculated for SEO score, and so are the TAGs.
Same thing for keywords: if I use a keyword in the footnotes or TAGs of the article, the SEO analyzer should count them.

  • Hello,

Thank you for sharing your feedback and concerns regarding Rank Math’s SEO analysis tool. Currently, Rank Math’s instant analyzer focuses on the main content of the article when calculating the SEO score. However, you bring up a valid point about including footnotes and TAGs in the analysis process to provide a more comprehensive evaluation of the content.

    Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

Please note that Rank Math can only read the content of a post or page if that content is stored in the post’s post_content meta.

If you wish to include outside content, you’ll have to make use of our Content Analysis API: https://rankmath.com/kb/content-analysis-api/

With that said, Google will still be able to see the overall content including your footnotes and tags as long as Google can access the entire page content.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any other questions.
