Connecting to Google Analytcis from Staging domain

I have added RankMath to http://rogerbatesproperties-new-co-uk.stackstaging.com/ which is a staging site

We would like to set this up with google analytics before we go live

but I am trying to link it up to the existing analytics account which is setup for https://rogerbatesproperties.co.uk

Will this cause a problem connecting the 2? and is there a way for us to set this up prior to going live

When we set the site live will it be able to automatically detect the correct google account?

Google Analytics should not be set up on a staging site. The staging and live sites are under different domains so you won’t be able to connect the staging site to the correct domain. Your staging site also might have a setting enabled to block crawlers. For those reasons, it’s safer to wait until the site is live to connect analytics.
