Conflict with The Events Calendar – Meta Value Update Failing

    Hi Rank Math Team,

    We’re encountering an issue on our WordPress site that appears to be caused by a conflict between Rank Math SEO and The Events Calendar plugin.

    When Rank Math is active, attempting to update or save any event results in the following error:

    “Updating failed. Could not update the meta value of _tec_requires_first_save in database.”

    We’ve tested and confirmed that the error disappears when Rank Math is deactivated. The problem specifically occurs when editing pages.

    Here’s what we’ve tried so far:

    Cleared Rank Math transients via Status & Tools

    Recreated missing database tables

    Tested with default themes and minimal plugin set

    Unfortunately, the issue persists. Could you please investigate this conflict and let us know if there’s a known workaround or patch for compatibility?

    WordPress Version: 6.8.1

    Rank Math Version: 1.0.247

    Rank Math Pro Version: 3.0.89

    The Events Calendar Version: 6.13.2.1

    The Events Calendar Pro Version: 7.6.0.2

    You mentioned that you’re using Rank Math PRO, but the account you used to open this ticket is the Rank Math free version.

    Rank Math free

    We had this exact same issue presenting with Rank Math Premium (1.0.248) and using the Tribe Events Calendar Pro version (7.6.1) on WordPress 6.8.1.

    Tried finding the cause in the database but had no luck.

    Disabling Tribe Events Pro (and keeping the free version of Tribe Events Calendar) resolves this conflict.

    May not be an option for you, but gave us a workaround.
