Hi,
After updating all the plugins recently, I saw the following error when I updated a page:
“Updating failed. Could not update the meta value of _elementor_template_type in database.”
I have tested all plugins one by one and found that the error happens only when RankMath SEO is enabled.
Please let me know how to fix it. Thank you.
Regards,
Sam

Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the error message related to Elementor when Rank Math SEO is enabled. This type of conflict can occur due to various reasons, including plugin compatibility issues.
To troubleshoot this issue, we recommend the following steps:
-
Check for Plugin Conflicts: Since you’ve already tested other plugins, ensure that you are using the latest version of both Rank Math and Elementor. Sometimes, updating to the latest versions can resolve conflicts.
-
Enable Troubleshooting Mode: You can use the Troubleshooting Mode in Rank Math to identify if there are any specific settings or configurations causing the conflict. Here’s how:
- Navigate to the Troubleshooting Mode in the top bar of Rank Math.
- Enable Elementor and check if the issue persists.
- If it does, try disabling other plugins one by one while keeping Rank Math and Elementor active to see if a specific plugin is causing the conflict.
-
Check Theme Compatibility: Sometimes, themes can also cause conflicts. Switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-One) temporarily to see if the issue persists.
-
Contact Elementor Support: If the problem continues, it may be beneficial to reach out to Elementor’s support team as well, as they might have insights into this specific error.
If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so that a human agent from our support team can assist you further. Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention!
Some more information for you:
If I roll back RankMath to 1.0.244, the error doesn’t appear.
Please advise. Thank you.
Hello,
We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.

Hi,
Please simply open the page “30% Off…” and click save (not using Elementor). Then you will see the error. It also happens when you duplicate a page, open it and click save.
Best regards,

SamHello,
We see that the route https://staging2.firepit.rocks/wp-json/wp/v2/pages/4867?_locale=user returns a 500 internal server error.
5xx errors are usually caused due to server misconfiguration or other server issues.
To further investigate and resolve the issue you will have to enable debugging mode on your WordPress installation and share the error logs with us.
Having the error log file will give a clear idea of why this might be happening.
You can follow this guide to enable debugging in WordPress
https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/ or you can get in touch with your web host, they will help you locate the log file.Or simply by installing the following plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-debugging/
You can use a tool like Dropbox/Pastebin to upload the log files and share the generated links here.
We look forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hi,
I’ve used the plugin to create the debug.log file but there is no error entry, which means there is nothing inside the debug.log file.
Best regards,
SamHello,
Can you please add your site’s FTP access details in the Sensitive Data Section so we can debug this by making changes in the plugin files? You can request this from your host.
Thank you so much for your patience while we resolve this for you.
