Conflict with Elementor

I have a local installation of a website that I plan to launch in a month. I built the website with Elementor (free) and recently changed the Yoast plugin to try Rank Math. Since then I’ve had a problem. When I modify or add something to a page, when I want to save the changes I get back a Server Error [500 Internal Server Error].
I disconnected all the plugins and activated them one by one. The page saves the changes with all plugins except Rank Math.
Any idea what the problem is?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

This is a bit odd, I have not come across this before. Would you mind sharing some temporary admin access on the sensitive data section so that I can check this for you?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

well, I’m sorry, but I’m new. What do you need me to send you?

how could I share some temporary administrator access? Sorry, I’ve never done it before

    Hello,

We are really sorry. Please disable the redirection module of Rank Math in WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard.

    See if that helps.

Since you are using a local installation, it won’t be possible to share your WP logins with since we won’t be able to login to your website.

Can you check your error log and send that to us so we can check where that is coming from?

I have deactivated the redirection module, but it still doesn’t update the pages.
I tried to copy the error log, but when I tried to open it, it returned the message “The system can’t find the specified path”.
I’m trying to access it in a different way and retrieve the logs.
Sorry for the delay in reply and thank you for your patience.

    Hi Rebordelo,

    Thanks for the follow up.

No problem, please ensure that error reporting is turned on in your wp-config.php within the root of your WP directory. This can be enabled with the following lines of code:

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);

We are looking forward to your response.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

This error suggests that there is a script in Elementor that is taking longer than expected to complete. Please check whether increasing the max_execution_time will have an effect on this issue.
You can do this by editing your .htaccess file and adding the following line of code:
    php_value max_execution_time 300

Let me know how this goes. Thank you.

Increasing the execution time, loads the script and stops writing the error logs but still the page refresh time is too high when I have the plugin active.
Any more idea why I have this problem ?
    Thank you for your help.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

I have a local site running Elementor but I can’t seem to reproduce these errors on my end. Is it possible that you are using a memory intensive theme that is causing the issues on your end?
Would you mind checking whether the issue can be reproduced when you temporarily switch to one of the stock WP themes?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hello,
The theme I’m using is Astra 1.8.2. I installed Twenty Nineteen and reloaded the page with Rank Math disabled. The loading time is about 10 seconds. With RM enabled the time is up to 3 minutes. I don’t think the problem is in the Astra theme.
Any other ideas? Thank you for your interest.

    Hello,

This is very hard for us to replicate or diagnose since you are using a local install.

Have you tried it on an online website?

If not, please do and share the results with us.
