    Rank Math free

    Hello,

I recently submitted a series of questions to the Rank Math Facebook group, but they were rejected. I’d like to understand the reason for the rejection so I can ensure my future posts align with the group’s guidelines.

Here is the series of questions I submitted:

    Hello 🙂
having some questions about the use of rank math to solve some problems

mywebsite.com or http://www.mywebsite.com for SEO Advantages and Disadvantages
I think if there’s an intent to use subdomains for other types of content, it’s important to consider this choice. If there’s no plan to use subdomains, it’s better to stick with mywebsite.com for simplicity and SEO benefits.

Changing a Page URL and its Impact on Indexing
I recently changed the URL of a page, but the old URL is still indexed in Google. Should I use Google Search Console to deindex the old URL, or should I set up a redirection? When I search for it (using site:mywebsite.com), I still see the old URL in Google results.

Managing Blog URLs with Categories and SEO Impact
When managing blog URLs, if we want to use categories, does including the category name in the URL have an impact on SEO compared to not including it?
The issue is that posts in subcategories might appear directly linked to the homepage. This part is unclear to me, and I’m worried about making a choice that could affect SEO.
I also believe that managing pages and blog posts requires slightly different approaches for effective organization.

    Do Tags Affect SEO?
Do you think tags negatively impact SEO? Some argue they could cause duplication issues, but I’d like your opinion if you disagree with this.

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out with your questions!

Our Facebook group was made mainly for customer feedback and suggestions to further improve Rank Math SEO. If you need assistance with the Rank Math plugin, we have a dedicated support system for which you just created a ticket here.

Back to the issue, here’s a quick breakdown.

    1. Both are essentially the same for SEO, but it’s best to choose one and stick with it (ideally the non-www version). Consistency helps avoid duplicate content issues.

    2. When changing a URL, always set up a 301 redirect from the old URL to the new one. This ensures users and search engines are directed to the updated page. You can also remove the old URL from the Google Index via Google Search Console but imposing redirections should be enough as long as Google get to recrawl your entire website after the changes you’ve made.

    3. Including categories in your URLs can be beneficial for SEO as it provides context to the content and can improve internal linking. However, avoid overly complex or deep URL structures.

    4. Tags don’t directly hurt SEO, but overuse or duplicate content issues can arise. If your tags are useful for organization and not creating duplicate content, they won’t negatively impact your SEO.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you very much for your responses, for question one. For the future, if we decide to use subdomains or multiple subdomains, is it possible that choosing a “no-www” configuration might not be a good option?
