Is there any way I can run scans with deleted articles content on your plugin so I can be able to fix them from my end in order to meet Google Search console recommended requirements?

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing. Currently, Rank Math does not have a built-in feature specifically for scanning deleted articles or their content directly. However, you can manually check for broken links by reviewing your website’s internal and external links.

To address broken links, you can:

    1. Use a Broken Link Checker Tool: There are various online tools available that can help you identify broken links on your site.
    2. Check Google Search Console: It can provide insights into any crawl errors or broken links that Google has encountered.
    3. Update Internal Links: If you have internal links pointing to deleted articles, consider updating them to point to relevant existing content or removing them altogether.

If you need further assistance or specific guidance on how to handle this, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hello,

I didn’t know I saw this now when I went into rank math account today

I’ve done a few redirect links to set permanent 301, does this look like I’m on the same page in order to notify google? Etc.

    https://ibb.co/QFwz90S1

also what does auto post redirect mean?

If I delete a post every time for example, it goes straight into permanent 301?

    Hello,

If those links/URLs are still available on your content, then they will end up on the redirected URLs report in your Google Search Console:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/page-with-redirect/

Also, the Auto post redirect only applies when you are changing the slug of your posts, like this example:

    https://yourdomain.com/my-old-page-slug

    to

    https://yourdomain.com/my-new-slug

Here’s a link for more information:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-redirect-posts-after-changing-urls/

    Looking forward to helping you.

Furthermore, I have no idea but now have noticed as to why these two links slightly different are seen as one being listed 404 redirected to homepage and another being still there without the date permalink.

It’s not like I’ve deleted one.

With that said, what can I do from here in order to avoid these conflicts next time?

    Hello,

The first URL is already redirecting to a category on your site.

Also, if that URL is available on your content or your site’s source code, then they will show up in the 404 report of site auditing tools or your Google Search Console.

If you want to set up a redirect for those URLs with dates, then you can use Rank Math to handle that with this regex redirect:

    Source: ^([0-9]+)/([0-9]+)/([0-9]+)/(.*)$
    Match: regex
    Destination: /$4

That will remove the dates, and will continue to the page slug only, like the 2nd URL you shared.

    Looking forward to helping you.

I’ve successfully implemented regex redirect from my end.

With deleted articles and/or stuff I wish to delete including articles and pictures that I don’t want anymore, do I have to implement each deleted link for 410 manually with redirects on this plugin?

I just looked at your 410 status code article as not sure how I could do it in bulk? So I can look to manage correctly but then it has the same things I’ve done when adding each links from my end.

    https://rankmath.com/kb/set-410-status-in-bulk/

Is there a similar path/implementation that I can do that doesn’t have to require much time? Like you presented me with the regex redirects?

    Hello,

If you have many URLs to handle, we recommend using a CSV import method for bulk 410s.

You can refer to this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-manage-redirects-via-csv/

You will, however, need a PRO subscription to use the CSV redirection import tool.

We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns.

    Thank you.

Thanks for your help. I’m good with this one for the moment.
