Changing Woocommerce Permalinks within a WP Multisite with Remove category base

Hello, our client is running a WP Multisite with Woocommerce and is trying to change the category- and product links using your ‘Remove category base’ feature. After enabling this the links are changed and the redirects work fine. However; the menu links towards the category are missing a trailing slash after the website URL (see sensitive data box) and generates a 404 when clicked.
    How can we fix this?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Could you please check if you have a trailing slash missing in the Woocommerce permalink section?

If they are already set there, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Somehow when I edit the permalink settings it won’t save the addition of a slash at the end. Only at the start of the category base (added a screenshot in sensitive data box)

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

In this case, we may need to further check your site. Please add your WordPress and FTP logins in the sensitive data section as instructed in my previous reply.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thanks for sharing the details.

I checked and wasn’t able to replicate the issue on your staging site. I enabled the Remove Category Base Option and the menu links are working fine. Please check the screencast attached in the sensitive data section.

Can we check it on your live site?

We really look forward to helping you.

Hi Jaideep: You can see the issue when you click a menu item on https://stroopwafels-com-staging.bluebirdday.io/ The link URL is not correct.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

I’ve already replicated the issue on your staging site and passed it to our development team for further investigation. We will get back to you shortly.

Meanwhile, please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime to assist you further with anything else.

We would really appreciate your kind patience regarding this matter.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Hello, is there any update on this issue?

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Upon further inspection of your website we noticed that on the NL version the menu is working fine with that option enabled, but in the English version is not.

It seems that you are redirecting the NL version of your website to the slash version at the end and the English version is not.

    NL:
    NL Version

    EN:
    English version

You should aim to have all the websites redirecting to the same versions, with or without a slash.

Hope this helps solve your issue.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
