Hello,
I’m sorry to hear that you are facing issues with saving settings in Rank Math after migrating from Yoast. The error message "The link you followed has expired. Please try again." can be frustrating.
Based on the information you provided, it seems like you have already tried disabling other plugins to rule out conflicts, but the issue persists even with only Rank Math active.
One common reason for settings not saving in Rank Math could be due to a conflict with another plugin or theme. Even though you have disabled other plugins, there might still be a conflict with the theme or a specific setting within Rank Math.
To troubleshoot this issue further, I recommend checking the following:
-
Check if Rank Math Rest Route is Blocked: Sometimes security plugins or firewalls can restrict the REST route used by Rank Math, causing settings not to save. You can check this by visiting the following URL in your browser (replace example.com with your domain): `https://rankmath.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/leave-site-message.jpg. If you see a response like the one shown in this screenshot, then your REST route is not blocked.
-
Update Rank Math to the Latest Version: Ensure that you are using the latest version of Rank Math. You can check and update the plugin from your WordPress Dashboard by going to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Status & Tools → Version Control. Follow the steps mentioned in this guide to update Rank Math.
If the issue persists after checking these steps, please let us know, and we will assist you further. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Kind regards.

How do I fix?
Hello,
Can you please confirm if the problem you’re having is not being able to save your meta settings, i.e. when you edit your meta settings and click ‘Save’ the settings are not saving.
If that’s the case, here are some steps you can take to fix this issue: https://rankmath.com/kb/meta-data-not-saving/
If the issue persists we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.
