    Hi,

I have some confusion with Google and thought I would change the URLs. But nothing similar was found on the topic. Can I change a sitemap deep links? I mean product and taxonomies (cat, tag) URLs.

    e.g.
    Product sitemaps:
    website.com/product-sitemap1.xml to website.com/example-sitemap1.xml
    website.com/product-sitemap2.xml to website.com/example-sitemap2.xml

    Cat sitemaps: /product_cat-sitemap.xml to /example_cat-sitemap.xml
    Tag sitemaps: /product_tag-sitemap.xml to /example_tag-sitemap.xml

If it’s possible how can I do it?

    Thanks a lot.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention.

You can use and modify this filter to change the XML URL of your sitemaps:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#change-remove-post-url

This should be added to your active theme’s functions.php file.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please donโ€™t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

    Hello Reinelle,

    Hello,

Thank you for getting back to us.

If I get you right you want to have the product snippets for these taxonomies [categories and tags] turned off? This will not have anything to do with their sitemap URLs.

We do have the option to remove product snippet data within taxonomies. You can go to Titles & Meta and choose the custom taxonomy and ensure that you enable Remove snippet data as shown here: https://i.rankmath.com/UVq2NM.

Changing the major URLs that define your post types in a sitemap, would have to require altering the plugin’s file code.

Hope this clarifies your point here. If not do let us know in case you have another question.
