Hello,
Thank you for contacting us.
We already add-self referencing canonical in case of multi-lingual websites.
Could you confirm which multilingual plugin are you using?
Also, please share the website’s URL so that we can have a closer look.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Thank you.
Hi,
I’m using Polylang as multilingual plugin. My problem is only with the Homepage.
Thanks
Hello,
Unfortunately, Polylang is not yet compatible with Rank Math. We have been trying to collaborate with them for a few years but left the conversation when they refused to add the compatibility even though they have it for several other plugins (some of them have a smaller user-base compared to RM)
https://github.com/polylang/polylang/tree/master/integrations
You can check their public repository where we created a pull request (linked to from your opening post) a few years back and we would have maintained it (though that would not have happened ideally since we do not make changes in the plugin that breaks the compatibility).
Disappointingly, the compatibility needs to be added in their plugin as they added for other SEO plugins. We are more than committed to making that happen and always keep it updated, of course, if their team agreed and wanted to collaborate.
Meanwhile, you can check this list for compatible products with Rank Math:
https://rankmath.com/compatibility/
You can also check these multilingual plugins that are already compatible with Rank Math to handle your website’s canonical.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.
Thanks I will look for another solution then
Hello,
I am glad that we could address your concern. You may let us know how that goes and if you have another question in the future, please feel free to create a new forum topic, and it will be our pleasure to assist you again.
Thank you.
please i really need polylang support. can not understand why it is missing.
Hello,
We deeply apologize for that.
As mentioned in my previous replies, we have already tried collaborating with the Polylang team but they have refused to add the compatibility.
We already prepared the code for the integration but this needs to be implemented on their end so it’s up to them if they wish to make use of it and complete the integration between our plugin and theirs.
Hope this clarifies any doubt. Looking forward to helping you.
