Previously I am using cdn.example.com/img.jpg for serving images using cloudfront.

But currently I want to migrate to example.com/img.jpg as cloudfront creating duplicate content issue.

So please tell me whether it is a good idea and how to implement the cdn 301 redirect from cdn.example.com to example.com for images

I want to use cloudflare as cdn as it has H3 support. But again i want to maintain my current url structure for cloudflare if thats possible.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

If you have created a subdomain to host your CDN images, you can simply redirect it using .htaccess if you decide to change the domain URL of these images.

Looking forward to helping you on this one.

Hi Jeremy. I need any of these solution.

    1. Redirect Using Subdomain and using cloudflare (301 Redirect Not Required)

    2. Channging all cdn url to base url ( cdn.xyz.com to just xyz.com) ( 301 Redirect required for images)
Tell me the syntax to put in .htaccess for the 2nd case

    Hello,

    I apologize for the confusion.

Since you don’t require 301 redirections, you may need for you to configure the DNS records to set
    a forwarding.

Please contact your hosting provider as they are in the best position to help you resolve this.

Thank you and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
