Category & Tag names and links not updated

    Recently I’ve renamed the Category and Tag names of my website, and the links are working great on the website.

    And I’ve removed the Archive term from the Category and Tag Title with the help of RankMath Category and Tag section, then resubmitted my sitemap on webmaster tools but I’m not seeing any changes in Category and Tag links, but I’ve found changes in the new description of the HomePage on search results.

    I know the search engine does take time, but my Home Page description updated immediately, right?

    What I’m seeing is Example Archive with an old URL, and these are giving 404.

    Any help is appreciated

    Could you please share the Sitemap URL in the Sensitive Data Section of this ticket? You can access the Sensitive Data section by editing the first post of this ticket.

    I’ve excluded the sitemap from the cache plugin also provided a sitemap URL for you

    Today, I found another thing in search results, category sitemap URL found in search results, I mean .xml URL (mostly on mobile)

    Another one, How to remove paginated link from the Google search results?

    Hello,

    Thanks for getting back to us.

    Upon inspecting your website in the Google search results I was able to find some of the pages using the old category and tags base. Although your sitemap is updated correctly Google doesn’t immediately drop all the indexed results in favor of the new ones. It could take a couple of weeks for those old links to completely drop out of the search results.

    To control the search results index status you can head over to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Misc Pages and choose the appropriate settings to disable search results and paginated search results from appearing in SERPs.
