    2. Check for Plugin Conflicts: It’s possible that another plugin may be conflicting with Rank Math. You can use the Health Check plugin to identify any potential conflicts.

    3. Custom Canonicals: If you have set custom canonical URLs for your product categories, they may not appear in the sitemap. Ensure that you are not using custom canonicals that could be affecting the visibility of these categories in the sitemap.

    4. Sitemap Settings: Double-check the settings in Rank Math to ensure that the product categories are enabled to be included in the sitemap. You can find this under Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings.

    5. Check for Static Files: Ensure there are no static files named product_cat-sitemap.xml on your server that could be causing conflicts. If such a file exists, it may prevent Rank Math from generating the dynamic sitemap correctly.

    We’re seeing product category pages in the sitemap that were recently modified. Could you please share the affected URL so we can check?

    Meanwhile, you can verify the Last Modified date shown in your sitemap index as well if a page in a sub-sitemap was updated.

    I see now that the page above updated. But it didn’t do it instantly. I was checking every 2 minutes for a while. Now it is updated. I wonder if there is a minimum time before updating the product_cat-sitemap.xml because still doesn’t work instantly while the other types of sitemaps work just fine and update instantly.

    This can be caused by caching on your site or browser as well.

    Also, exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:

    If the issue persists, disable the transient cache for the sitemap by applying this filter. This will make sure that your XML sitemap always reflects the latest changes on your site:

     */
    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');
