Category Description Keeps Reverting Back

    Hi,

    I am trying to specify meta description of my categories individually by going to WP Admin Panel > Products > Categories > Selecting a category > Scrolling down to click Edit Snippet and then instead of using the default term description, I try to specify a combination by using the %term_description% varible and then I add a piece of text after that. It then shows correctly in the Preview before saving but after I click the Update button below to save changes, it ignores the %term_description% and only shows the additional text I added right after the8 %term_description%. This bug is not observed if I simply keep the Description box in Edit Snippet as default instead of trying to add additional text along with %term_description%.

    My second question is that will specifying settings individually for product category pages override the settings I defined in the general plugin settings in Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Product categories?

    Can you please answer my two questions?

    Hello,

    Yes, setting an individual meta in your archive page will override the global settings.

    As for you first issue, please check your browser console for script errors when you save your pages.

    If you see an error containing “updateMeta”, then your server must be blocking Rank Math’s API. Please refer to this guide to fix it: https://rankmath.com/kb/meta-data-not-saving/#firewall
