category-archives override pages

    Hi there,

    i have a category in my wordpress installation called for example xyz.

    I also have A PAGE in my installation about that very topic, my main landing page which used to by at domain.tld/xyz

    now, for some reason suddenly domain.tld/xyz has become a archive page for the category – anybody knows how to change it? i dont need any archive pages, i am trying to build a structure of landingpages for a category and subcategory and then post articles below that level

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    This can happen if your strip the category base of the category pages making the URLs the same as the page URLs. In you case you will have to either disable the option of Stripping Category Base in Rank math > General Settings > Links or Change the slug for your pages under the edit snippet option of the SEO meta box: https://i.rankmath.com/YoOoEW

    Dear Michael,

    I have changed the setting accordingly to your recommendation and it seems to have been working (so far), thanks!

    However, can you also give me a hint if my plan is working / makes sense going forward? So I know I don´t run into this or similar problems moving forward with the described structure and rank math?

    The structure looks to be good.

    I would suggest looking up for the best practises for doing structures.
