Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with updating your Rank Math settings. It sounds frustrating, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
Since you’ve already checked that Wordfence is not blocking access and have tried reinstalling Rank Math and clearing the cache, there are a few other things you might want to consider:
-
Check for JavaScript Errors: Sometimes, JavaScript conflicts can prevent settings from being saved. You can open the Developer Tools Console in Chrome by navigating to More Tools → Developer Tools and then clicking on the Console tab. Look for any errors that might indicate a conflict with another plugin or theme. Here’s how to open it:

If you see any errors, it may be helpful to reach out to the respective support forum for those plugins or themes.
-
Check REST Route Access: Ensure that the REST route used by Rank Math is not blocked. You can do this by visiting the following URL in your browser (replace example.com with your domain):
If you see a response indicating access is denied, it could be a firewall or security plugin issue. You can find more information on how to unblock Rank Math from your firewall here.

-
Plugin Conflicts: There may be conflicts with other plugins or themes. If you have multiple SEO plugins or any plugins that might interact with Rank Math, consider disabling them temporarily to see if that resolves the issue. Rank Math will check for known conflicts and display warnings if any are found.

If none of these solutions work, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will take over and assist you further. Thank you for your patience!
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
While saving the metadata, please keep the browser console open in the “Network” tab and see what the status code of the following route: https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateMeta?_locale=user
You can find the browser console in your browser following this guide: https://balsamiq.com/support/faqs/browserconsole/
If it’s returning any other value than a 200, there’s something wrong with the route and we would request you to get in touch with your hosting provider to make sure that REST APIs are not getting blocked.
However, if it returns 200 status code, then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
