    Rank Math free

    Hi,

I’m trying to request index in GSC to my hopmepage: https://lisboadoctoroncall.pt/

However, it keeps saying that I cant because robots its set to no index.

I have done all I can to put it to index (on the page settings its also set as index), but I still can’t.

    What might be the problem?
In the options – reading it’s also set to index in SERPS.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with indexing your homepage. It sounds like there may be a few areas to check to resolve this problem:

    1. Check the Rank Math Metabox: Ensure that the Rank Math Metabox on your homepage is set correctly. Open the homepage in the WordPress Editor, and click the Rank Math SEO icon in the top-right corner (for Gutenberg) or scroll down to find it (for Classic Editor). In the Advanced Tab, make sure the Robots Meta is set to Index.
Set Robots Meta to index in Rank Math Metabox

    2. Global Settings: Check your global settings at WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta → Posts/Pages/Products/CPTs to ensure that there are no settings overriding your individual page settings.

    3. WordPress Reading Settings: Double-check that the option Discourage search engines from indexing this site is not enabled at WordPress Dashboard → Settings → Reading.
Ensure Search Engine Visibility option is unchecked

    4. Robots.txt File: Lastly, ensure that your robots.txt file does not contain any directives that might be blocking the homepage from being indexed. You can check this by going to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit Robots.txt.
      Edit robots.txt

If you have checked all these settings and the issue persists, we recommend replying to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.

We can see that your homepage’s robots meta is set to index and the page is actually already indexed by Google. See screenshots:

Please note that your homepage is redirecting to https://lisboadoctoroncall.pt/en/home/, and that page is already indexed. Google does not index pages that are redirected – instead, it indexes the page that was redirected to.

We hope this helps clarify the issue. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Where do you see that redirect happening? Cuz I haven’t set one.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Interesting, tried visiting the page again and it is no longer redirecting. In this case, use the URL Inspection Tool to request reindexing of your homepage, then share a screenshot with us.

You can share images with us by uploading them to an image hosting site like Imgur, and then sharing the generated URL with us here.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you.

I tried fetching again and it allowed me to do it.

However, I still see it mentioned that it has the no index in it.

It’s in Portuguese, can you work it out?
    Thank you

    Hello,

According to my Google Translation of the page, the only mention of ‘noindex’ on this page is where it says “No ‘noindex’ detected in ‘robots’ meta. This means that no noindex tag is detected on your page, so it should be indexable.

If this is not what was said, you can share the English version of that page with us. To get the English version, add ?hl=en to the end of that page to render it in English and share a screenshot.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
