Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with activating the Rank Math plugin on your Multisite setup. It sounds like you’ve followed the necessary steps, but let’s ensure everything is in order.
-
Check Role Manager Settings: Make sure that your user role has the required capabilities in the Role Manager settings inside Rank Math. You can do this by navigating to Rank Math → Role Manager in your WordPress dashboard. Ensure that your user role is granted all necessary capabilities and click the Update Capabilities button to save any changes.

-
Network-Wide Activation: Confirm that Rank Math is activated network-wide. If you are using a multisite environment, only the Super Admin can install and activate plugins across the network. Make sure that Rank Math is installed correctly as per our guide on installing Rank Math in a multisite environment.
-
User Permissions: If you are not the Super Admin, check with them to ensure that your account has the necessary permissions to access Rank Math settings.
If you have checked all of these and are still encountering the "Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page" message, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so that a human agent from our support team can assist you further.
Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to resolve it for you soon!

Just wanted to say your automated reply is based on the initial setup working as you can’t see that menu until the connection is made. I have reviewed the support article but can’t see .htaccess naturally through cPanel so if that is the issue I may have to SSH and use nano to review the file. I have tried doing the setup in 3 browsers to make sure it’s not a cookie issue.
I didn’t notice the request for the site I’m trying to set up. The specific subdomain is
https://secondthoughts.verisimilitude.net/
but I have tried a number of them and they all produce this message. I am the Super Admin.
Hello,
You already mentioned that you have followed the guide, but just to be sure, the correct way to use our plugin on a multisite setup is to install it on the network but only activate it on specific subsites.
If you have activated it on the network, please deactivate it and then activate it on the subsites.
Please refer to this guide:

Looking forward to helping you.
Thanks so much Reinelle deactivating the Network version and activating it at the subdomain level worked great!
