Hello dear RM Team! On my Divi-Woo website on the product category page it doesn’t show any canonical tag, even though it would be pretty important due to filtering. I hope you can help me out with that. Thank you

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with the canonical tag not showing up on your Divi-Woo website’s product category page. The canonical tag is indeed important, especially for product category pages with filtering.

To address this concern, you can set the canonical URL for your product category pages using Rank Math. Here’s how you can do it:

    1. Edit the Product Category Page: Open the product category page in question by clicking on the Edit button.

    2. Navigate to the Advanced Tab of Rank Math: Once you’ve opened the product category page, navigate to the Advanced tab of Rank Math in your editor. If you’re unable to find the Advanced tab, please enable the advanced mode from WordPress Dashboard โ†’ Rank Math SEO โ†’ Dashboard.

Here’s a visual guide to help you locate the Advanced tab:

By setting the canonical URL for your product category pages, you can inform search engines about the original content and avoid duplicate content issues.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with this process, feel free to ask. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

Okay, so looks like Coming Soon page plugin by SeedProd caused the issue. Now a new one come up, as using filter option, the page won’t use it’s self canonical, but the new URl with the get parameter. How this solution could be solved? I’d avoid using the same URL, as if fe. someone would like to send the chosen link to someone, it could be helpfull.
    Thank you. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hello,

I’ve checked the URL, and they are set to noindex.

Please note that Rank Math only adds the canonical if a page is set to index.

Let us know as well the filtered URLs so we can check and advise accordingly.

    Looking forward to helping you.
