Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the canonical link tag on your homepage. To resolve this, please ensure that you have selected a specific page as your homepage under WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Readings > Your homepage displays. If you are using the default blog post page as your homepage, you may not see the option to add a focus keyword or canonical link tag directly.
If you still cannot find the option to add a canonical link tag, you can manually set it in the Rank Math meta box:
- Edit the page that you have set as your homepage.
- Scroll down to the Rank Math meta box.
- Go to the Advanced tab (if you cannot find this tab, please enable Advanced Mode).
- In the Canonical URL field, enter the URL you want to set as canonical for your homepage.
- Save or update the page.
Once you’ve done this, Google should recognize the canonical link tag on your homepage. If you have any further questions or issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.
Thank you for raising this concern!
Hello,
It seems like your homepage is currently set to Noindex.
Please note that our plugin adds the canonical URL when the pages are set as index. There is no use of the canonical tag on the noindexed pages because Google isn’t going to index those pages.
The canonical URL will be automatically added to your homepage once you set your website to index.
Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
